Lead Manufacturing process from Lead concentrates Before lead concentrate can be charged into Rotary furnace for smelting, it must be roasted to remove most of the sulphur and to agglomerate further the fine flotation products or fired directly in furnace. Various fluxing materials, such as limestone or iron ore, are mixed with the ore concentrate.

Lead concentrate is loaded into Rotary Furnace fired by LDO/FO/GAS at 1100 'C. Lead sulphide is split into Lead and sulphur dioxide; with lead dust, all gases are passed through a pollution control plant till clean air is released into air, Liquid Lead is tapped into cast iron pot.

The raw material for this project is Galena. Galena is available In many parts of Cambodia. Reserves Estimated at 30 million tons.

Galena can be mined by open cast and underground mining. Mined ore usually contains lead ranging from 10 to 60% .

The processed mineral is Galena (PbS) which comprises of 60% of lead. In order to smelt this mineral, a blast furnace is needed to be used. A blast furnace is an enormous oven which is used to accomplish the smelting processes. The process in which galena is smelted requires two important chemical reactions to occur within the furnace.
